With Remember speakers on, confirmed people live in an app-wide library on that device. Add a clear voice example before transcription, or teach the app as you review.
You stay in control: correct a match, forget a person, or turn remembering off. Names alone don’t identify a voice, and automatic matches always need your judgment.

Does it work offline?
Yes, once Apple’s speech assets for your language are available. Speaker models are included with the app—no model picker or extra speaker download. First use may need an internet connection for Apple’s language assets. There is no automatic cloud transcription fallback.
What devices and files does it support?
iOS/iPadOS 26 or later on supported hardware, and macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon. The app checks whether on-device speech recognition is available. MP4, MOV, M4A, MP3, WAV, and other Apple-supported media formats can work; the audio codec matters, not just the file extension. Protected media cannot be read.
Will every word and speaker be correct?
No transcription system is perfect. Noise, overlapping voices, and unfamiliar names can cause errors. DropTranscript gives you playback and correction tools. Check the original audio before relying on an important quote or speaker attribution.
Do my people and recordings sync?
No. The app’s recording and People libraries are local to each device. Exports go to the destination you choose, which may be a synced folder. Keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
When can I get it?
DropTranscript is preparing for its App Store debut. It will be free at launch. Download links will appear here when the app is available—there is no release date to announce yet.
